Eric (aka "The Big Dipper") grew up in suburban Houston and became obsessed with birds at age 13. While still in high school, he was compiling his local Christmas Bird Count, and operating the Texas Coast Rare Bird Lists (back in the days of cassette tape answering machines). Eric received a B.A. from UT-Austin. In Austin, Eric has been a regular field trip leader and class instructor for Travis Audubon, and he also coordinates the monthly field trip at Hornsby Bend. He works as an Environmental Manager for Austin Energy. Eric has been on the TAS board for three years and is currently the board President.
