Join a Birdathon Event to bird TPWD’s newest acquisition, Powderhorn Ranch SP, with Daniel Walker of TPWD. Powderhorn Ranch SP is in Calhoun County and about 3 hours from Austin. We will meet at the park entrance at 8:00 A.M. and group into as few vehicles as possible. Plan to bird the property until around 3:00 P.M. We will be a good distance from any facilities so bring your lunch and snacks, water, sturdy boots, and dress for the weather. We will be birding a variety of habitats including lake, bay and coastal oaks. Migration will be in full swing, so with any luck we should see a migrant or two. For more information about the park click here. Before the trip, more information will be forwarded to attendees regarding the meeting location, nearby hotels, and other birding locations nearby. This team will bird on Saturday, April 20, 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM. The fee to register for this team is $100, but if you wish you are welcome to provide an additional donation!
