County Vagrants Birdathon Dr. Byron Stone and Jane Tillman, co-leaders

Sunday, April 23, 2017

It is time for the annual County Vagrants Birdathon, or should we say marathon? This year we will be birding in Gillespie County on Sunday, April 23. We are going to have access to multiple private properties.

Some of us will probably spend Saturday night in Stonewall or Johnson City, so that we can start before dawn for owls. This will be a fun, but long day of birding.

We have a full contingent of repeat Vagrants, but you can bird vicariously with us- we will send a trip report to all who support our team. We love those $/species pledges as it makes us work a little harder, but a flat donation is much appreciated too.

Thanks for your support.

ABOUT Birdathon 2017

Birdathon teams are making birding count for conservation! Check out the fundraiser profiles and consider making a contribution that will support wildlife conservation and education.

You can take part too! Birdathon participants plan an afternoon or day of birding and compete individually or as a team to win awards for highest bird species count and highest donations collected. Much like a walkathon, fundraisers collect pledges to raise money for conservation. This friendly competition is open to all levels of birders. If you would like assistance setting up a fundraising page or team of your own, please contact Nancy Sprehn at volunteer@travisaudubon.org or 512-300-2473.
